Adult Protective Services (APS) works to protect adults 60 years of age and older within Ohio who are handicapped by the infirmities of aging or who have a physical or mental impairment preventing them from providing their own care or protection and are suspected to be a victim of abuse, neglect, self-neglect and/or financial exploitation (Ohio Revised Code ). Hamilton County Adult Protective Services (APS) is mandated by Ohio Revised Code Section to investigate reports of abuse, neglect and exploitation of the elderly in Hamilton County. Allegations of neglect also include self-neglect by an elderly person.
Adult Protective Services (APS) is administered by the Franklin County Office on Aging with funding provided by the Department of Job and Family Services. Social workers, healthcare professionals and law enforcement may submit referrals online.
